Over 700 members of a single Chinese family convened for a reunion shoot at Shishe village in Shengzhou, East China's Zhejiang province during the Spring Festival holiday.

The photo shows seven generations of the family, who range in age from a few months to over 80 years old.

The family, surnamed Ren, originated from the village and can be traced back 850 years with 32 generations.

Since the family is scattered across China, only the active participation of family members and preparation of the local government made the massive reunion a reality.

"We signed up for taking the photo as soon as we received the invitation from the village," said Ren Zhedong with five members of his own family from China's northern province of Hebei.

The village held joyful performances such as dragon dance and Cheongsam show to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year for the family members coming back.

"We hope to promote the cohesion of villagers through such activities," said Ren Tuanjie, a local government official. "We are now working on homestays and tourism activities in order to entertain visitors with local customs."
