The per capita disposable income of urban residents increased to 51,261 yuan in 2017 from 332 yuan in 1978. The figure of rural residents grew from 165 to 24,956 yuan.

Employment

At the end of 2017, the number of employed people in Zhejiang reached 37.96 million, twice as large as that in 1978. The huge growth in employment guaranteed the constant and rapid development of Zhejiang's economy.

Consumption

The per capita consumer spending of Zhejiang's urban residents increased from 301 yuan in 1978 to 31,924 yuan in 2017. The figure of rural residents rose from 157 to 18,093 yuan.
