The official commemoration of China's reform and opening-up held in Beijing on Dec 18 evoked positive responses from people in Zhejiang province.

Lan Jingfen, Party secretary of Daji town in Jingning She autonomous county, said the changes that have happened to villagers are the best proofs of achievements over the past four decades.

She said, "At the beginning of reform and opening-up, there was no electricity and no direct pathways to the outside world. However, the situation today is quite different. Tourists are interested in the songs, colorful ribbons and cuisine of She people and the tourism in local villages is developing fast."

Chen Tian, a staff member at an agricultural company in Huangyan district of Taizhou, deeply appreciated the changes in agriculture, saying farmers are no longer annoyed by sales difficulties as the development of the internet offers a new efficient way to sell agricultural products nationwide.

Zhejiang's efforts in streamlining administrative procedures have seen positive results across the province. Tian Jun, an official from the administrative service center in Quzhou, said the reform is still underway and in the future they will continue to push forward the "At Most One Visit" reform in the hope of injecting more vitality into the province's development.

Feng Bosheng, director of the Zhejiang State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, said the message from the grand gathering in Beijing deepened his understanding of the importance of the reform inside State-owned enterprises. He pledged to devote himself to new practices for reform and opening-up.
