The 24th Shaoxing Rice Wine Festival and the First International Fair of Chinese Rice Wine Industry opened in Shaoxing, a city in East China's Zhejiang province, on Nov 7.

In recent years, through accelerating the integration and industrial agglomeration of the industry, Shaoxing has promoted the competitiveness of local rice wine products, as well as consumer brand awareness.

From January to September this year, sales recorded by yellow wine enterprises above designated size in Shaoxing amounted to 2.42 billion yuan ($350 million).

The festival and expo not only attracted the participation of rice wine firms, but also attracted beer and red wine producers from around the world.
