The leaders and heavyweights in the national ceramic industry descended in Longquan, a county-level city of Lishui, Zhejiang province with the arrival of the World Celadon Conference and the 11th China Ceramic Art Exhibition on Nov 2.

Listed among the intangible cultural heritage by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in 2009, Longquan celadon is a renowned style of green-glazed porcelain made in Longquan and neighboring counties of Zhejiang province.

Longquan celadon is a treasure of Chinese culture. It is the longest and most influential kiln in the history of ceramics in China, according to Wu Xiaodong, mayor of Lishui city, adding that he hopes the conference can further promote the Chinese celadon art and culture to the world.

Another highlight of this year's event includes a featured exhibition displaying a total of 102 fine celadon products from the Palace Museum.

Longquan, one of China's production hotspots for celadon crafts, was awarded with the title of "Chinese Ceramic City" while nine cooperative projects were signed at the opening ceremony.
