New general airport to lift Deqing's aviation industry

Moganshan General Airport in Deqing county, Zhejiang province, came into service on Oct 8, after approval by the East China Regional Administration of Civil Aviation.

Covering 29.24 hectares, the airport is located in a characteristic town themed on general aviation and smart manufacturing in Deqing, Huzhou, and is one of seven general airports Zhejiang plans to build by 2030.

The construction of Moganshan General Airport began in September 2016, and so far it is equipped with fully functional facilities, including a 600-meter-long, 30-meter-wide runway, aprons, a terminal and a meteorological observation station.

The airport will provide landing and takeoff services for pilot training, police affairs, emergency rescue, fire control, medical care, sightseeing, forest protection and aircraft flight testing. The first group of 40 aircraft has been stationed in its hangar.

Deqing has been striving to develop its aviation industry in recent years, and a distinctive industrial system led by intelligent manufacturing, operation services and tourism is being formed in the mountainous county of Zhejiang.
