The 16th Zhejiang Provincial Games came to an end in the city of Huzhou on Sept 26 with 912 gold medals handed out and three provincial records broken.

The games provided a platform to demonstrate the athletic competitiveness and spiritual outlook of the young people in Zhejiang province. The event was also held to increase people's interest in exercise and help further promote the National Fitness Program.

After the games, a few athletes, especially in the fields of swimming and weightlifting, stood out and were hopeful they'd be chosen by the national teams.

The next provincial sports games will be held in Jinhua in 2022. At the closing ceremony on Wednesday, the next host city presented an eight-minute cultural show with its regional features and received the flag from Huzhou.
