With a beautiful natural environment, Lushunkou is also the renowned garden of Dalian. Lushunkou is classified as a State-Level Scenic Spot, Nature Reserve, Ecological Demonstration Area, Forest Park and Geological Park. The unique and magnificent dividing line between the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea stretches hundreds of miles, whilst the world-famous Snake Island and Bird Island offer a marvelous view. The Nature Reserve in Lushunkou covers 145 square kilometers, with a forest coverage reaching 51.3 percent. Surrounded by mountains and water, Lushunkou is crowned as a natural oxygen bar and seaside garden and an ecologically healthy place most suitable for people to live in Northern China. It is also becoming an international tourism resort for Northeast Asia and the world.
The successful hosting of the Fisherman's Festival, Cherry Blossom Festival, Big Cherry Festival and Cuisine Festival have also given Lushunkou new cultural elements and unique cultural charms.
Transportation
There are three high-grade highways from the south, the middle, and the north leading to the urban area of Dalian, with a road network that ranks second in Dalian in density. The construction of Dalian International Shipping Center Combination Harbor is advancing and is being properly promoted. The Yantai-Dalian Railway Ferry and the Penglai-Lushunkou sea route are the "golden waterways" connecting the Liaodong Peninsula and the Shandong Peninsula. The Tuyang Expressway is connected to the road network of Northeast China, and the Dalian-Lushun light rail is about to be completed and opened to traffic. The marine roll-on roll-off transport businesses of Dalian will soon be all transferred to Lushunkou New Port. As such, the harbor, railway, train ferry, expressway, and urban light rail systems will all merge here, offering Lushunkou a unique "Five in One" transportation advantage nationwide.
In the future, the completion of the Dalian-Yantai cross-straits bridge will inevitably make Lushunkou a logistics center of the Bohai Rim area and an important combination harbor of the Dalian Northeast Asia shipping center.

Climate
Lushunkou has characteristics of a monsoon climate in the north temperate zone. It has four distinct seasons, with long winters and summers, short springs and autumns, as well as sufficient sunlight and moderate rainfall.

There are 10 streets, one economic development zone, 68 villagers' committees, and 13 community committees in Lushunkou. The district government is located at No 1 Xincheng Street, Lushunkou district.
