More than 1,400 international students in Pudong New Area, Shanghai have been provided with the chance to learn about intangible cultural heritage items through a series of activities organized by the district since early November.

"This year marks the 30th anniversary of the development and opening-up of Pudong. Yet the district is far from being just an international metropolis. It also boasts a long history and profound culture," said an official from the Pudong bureau of education.

"The activities were meant to allow international students living in Pudong to learn more about the district," the official added.

Over the past six weeks, a dozen artists have enthralled students with various ancient art forms, such as paper cutting, tai chi, and Shanghai woolen embroidery.
