The textile industry in Changyi, a county-level city in Weifang, Shandong province, is enhancing its presence in international markets, backed by a comprehensive industry value chain and expanding global partnerships.
This progress was evident at the 2026 Weifang (Changyi) International Matchmaking Event for Textile Fabrics, where more than 40 local manufacturers displayed over 100 products to international companies from Russia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, India, and other key trading hubs. The matchmaking event concluded with intended purchase orders exceeding 26 million yuan ($3.6 million).

Changyi is among Shandong's few textile hubs with a complete industry value chain, including spinning, weaving, printing and dyeing, sales, and textile machinery manufacturing. In 2025, the output value of the city's major textile and printing-dyeing enterprises reached 16.1 billion yuan, accounting for nearly 30 percent of Weifang's total textile industry output.
Once a historic center of silk production, Changyi has evolved its textile heritage into a modern manufacturing cluster. In recent years, the city has championed intelligent manufacturing, green production, and industry upgrading, assisting enterprises in moving to higher-value industry segments. Today, its textile and printing-dyeing cluster generates an annual output value exceeding 20 billion yuan.
Local textile companies are expanding internationally through digital innovation and market development. They have launched cross-border e-commerce platforms and established overseas livestreaming and warehousing centers in countries such as Kazakhstan, Hungary, and Uganda.
With exports reaching more than 40 countries and regions in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Americas, Changyi's textile industry continues to grow its global presence while supporting Weifang's export-driven growth.
