As autumn deepens, Weifang transforms into a vibrant tapestry of reds and golds, making it the ideal time to explore the city's best spots for fall foliage. Two of the most breathtaking locations for leaf-peeping are Shimenfang scenic area and Juchi Cliff, where the striking red leaves create an unforgettable autumn experience.

Located in Linqu county, Shimenfang is one of China's five top destinations for viewing red autumn leaves. The area features over 3,000 mu (200 hectares) of native yellow hornbeam forests that turn a brilliant red as the season progresses. From afar, these trees resemble a vast sea of red waves cascading over the mountains. Up close, the branches are adorned with clusters of fiery red leaves, set against a backdrop of pine and cypress trees, creating a striking contrast.

In contrast to the sweeping beauty of Shimenfang, Juchi Cliff, located in Qingzhou city, offers a more dramatic and rugged setting. The red leaves here grow on steep, jagged cliffs shaped by years of wind and erosion. The craggy contours of the cliffs provide a stark contrast to the rich autumn foliage, creating a landscape that feels almost otherworldly. The combination of rough rock faces and vibrant colors offers a truly unforgettable sight.
