Gaomi pan-fried buns are a traditional folk delicacy of Gaomi, a county-level city administered by Weifang in Shandong province. Originating in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), pan-fried buns are filled with delicious stuffing that is delicately processed. The major ingredients include fresh pork and Chinese chives or Chinese cabbage, together with minor ingredients such as dried shrimp and fungus. The soft white dough completely covers the stuffing and the mildly fried buns are crispy, rich and tasty.
