Weifang Museum

Weifang Museum is a comprehensive local museum that integrates public education, exhibition, archaeological excavation, and cultural relic preservation. It is affiliated with the Weifang municipal bureau of culture and tourism and is currently located at No 6616 Dongfeng East Street in Kuiwen district, Weifang, Shandong province. In 2017, it was recognized as a national first-class museum by the National Cultural Heritage Administration.

The museum was established in 1962, while its latest building was completed on Dec 20, 1999. It covers an area of 24,053.5 square meters, with a building area of 18,669 sq m.

The museum houses over 90,000 cultural relics, including fossils, pottery, porcelain, bronze artifacts, jade, coins, ancient ivory and wood artifacts, calligraphy and painting works, stone rubbings, ancient books, stone inscriptions, sculptures, textiles, seals, folk costumes and accessories, as well as relics from modern revolutionary times, spanning 33 categories in total.

The Weifang Museum features several permanent exhibitions, including the essence of cultural relics exhibition, Weifang's brief history exhibition, and the stone carving art gallery. These exhibitions primarily showcase exquisite cultural relics from the museum's collection through images, models, and touch screens, giving visitors a vivid and up-close look at the artifacts.
