Established in September 1994 with the approval of the State Council, Kuiwen district is located in the core area of Weifang in East China's Shandong province. With an area of 57.6 square kilometers and a population of 475,000, the district has jurisdiction over eight sub-districts and a provincial-level economic development zone.
In 2023, the district's regional GDP grew by 7.2 percent, fixed asset investment increased by 12.5 percent, and general public budget revenue rose by 6 percent.
Kuiwen district is accelerating the development of its industrial system, fostering a modern financial industry and steadily advancing the construction of the Weifang Capital Market Service Base. Leading the development of high-end commerce, enterprises engaged in live-streaming and cross-border e-commerce are rapidly gathering, while measures to promote big-ticket purchases, such as houses and new energy vehicles, are currently underway. In the first quarter of this year, the total retail sales of consumer goods increased by 11.7 percent.
Project construction is accelerating and yielding significant results. Emphasis is placed on attracting enterprises to industrial parks, with the introduction of 10 measures to attract investment. Emerging industries are rapidly gathering, with 136 new companies entering 12 major parks. Talent attraction has also been highlighted, with a net inflow of young talent for the past five years straight.
