Hanting district is conveniently located adjacent to two national development zones in Weifang — the Weifang Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone and the Binhai Economic and Technological Development Zone. Four expressways and two national highways run through the area. The Weifang Port in the north is a first-class national open port and serves as the maritime gateway connecting Weifang to the rest of the world. The Weifang North High-Speed Railway Station is located in Hanting, and the Weifang Rail Transit Line 1 runs through the district.
