Anqiu, a county-level city administered by Weifang in East China's Shandong province, covers an area of 1,712 square kilometers and is comprised of nine towns, three sub-districts, and two development zones, with 864 administrative villages. The city has a registered population of 978,000 people.
In 2023, the city's GDP was 46.07 billion yuan ($6.46 billion), up 5.1 percent year-on-year. It also recorded a general public budget revenue of 3.11 billion yuan, up 2.7 percent year-on-year, and its total retail sales of social consumer goods amounted to 13.36 billion yuan, up 9 percent year-on-year.
Anqiu boasts a rich cultural heritage, with 66 items designated as intangible cultural heritage items at or above the municipal level in Weifang, including two national-level and 16 provincial-level items.
