Gaomi, a county-level city administered by Weifang in East China's Shandong province, covers an area of 1,523.49 square kilometers, with a land area of 1,467.56 sq km and a water area of 55.93 sq km. The total registered population in the city is 885,008 people.
In 2023, the city achieved a GDP of 67.95 billion yuan ($9.53 billion), up 5.9 percent year-on-year. The general public budget revenue for the year reached 5.5 billion yuan, up 0.9 percent year-on-year.
The five major industries of textile and apparel, machinery and equipment, security products, food processing, and chemical building materials collectively generated an output value of 53.8 billion yuan.
Both domestic and foreign trade have seen healthy development. The total retail sales of social consumer goods amounted to 18.93 billion yuan last year, up 8.6 percent year-on-year. The total import-export volume for the year reached 19.6 billion yuan, up 9 percent year-on-year.
Gaomi is home to four tourist attractions, including one 4A-level tourist spot and three 3A-level tourist spots.
