SCIA & SCIAHK Hold Arbitration Week Events in Hong Kong

On 23 October 2025, during the Hong Kong Arbitration Week, SCIA and SCIAHK co-hosted a seminar on cross-border dispute resolution developments and practices in the Greater Bay Area, along with a networking session for arbitrators and Hong Kong's legal and business sectors in Hong Kong SAR. The seminar was co-organized by the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Faculty of Law (CUHK LAW) and received special support from the Department of Justice of the Hong Kong SAR.

The seminar was held in the afternoon at the CUHK LAW. The event focused on cross-border dispute resolution in the Greater Bay Area, inviting experienced domestic and international practitioners to delve into hot topics such as why choose the Greater Bay Area for cross-border dispute resolution, the Arbitration Law of the People's Republic of China (2026), and the differences between common law arbitration procedures and civil law arbitration procedures.

More than 200 participants, including domestic and international corporate representatives, legal practitioners, SCIA and SCIAHK arbitrator representatives, and university faculty and students, attended the event and engaged in interactive exchanges with the experts. At the closing session of the event, representatives from the SCIA Council and the SCIAHK Board of Directors presented scholarship certificates to CUHK LAW students who were awarded the SCIA scholarship.
In the evening, nearly 80 participants, including SCIA & SCIAHK Arbitrators and members of Hong Kong’s legal and business sectors, gathered for exchanges in Central, Hong Kong SAR. They explored ways to strengthen cooperation in the Greater Bay Area and enhance the internationalization of arbitration services, in order to jointly promote the international hub for legal services and dispute resolution services in the Greater Bay Area.
