The Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA) and the Vietnam International Commercial Mediation Center (VICMC) signed a cooperation agreement in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on 15 Oct 2024 to jointly promote cooperation between China and Vietnam in the field of international arbitration and commercial mediation to serve economic and trade exchanges between the two countries.

On the same day, SCIA and South China International Arbitration Center (HK) (SCIA HK), together with VICMC held a themed seminar on “China and Vietnam: Economic and Trade Investment and International Arbitration”.
Dr. Liu Xiaochun, President of the SCIA and Executive Chairman of SCIA HK,and VICMC Chairman Nguyen Hung Quang delivered speeches, expressing their intention to strengthen cooperation and to harmoniously and efficiently resolve commercial disputes between the two countries through cross-border “mediation + arbitration”.
VICMC Vice-Chairman Vu Thi Que, SCIA Assistant President and Director of International Cooperation and Development Huang Guoyong, and International Consultant of the Shenzhen Representative Office of Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP Xing Chengdong covered topics including arbitration and mediation rule innovation in China and Vietnam, preservation, execution and judicial review, and enterprise risk prevention and dispute resolution.
During the thematic discussion session, VICMC Board Member and Head of International Cooperation and Development Department Luong Van Ly, and SCIA Arbitrators Lin Yifei, Fu Linyong, Liu Yinhong and Huang Hai discussed Sino-Vietnamese economic and trade investment and diversified dispute resolution. They also answered questions from representatives of the business and legal communities of China and Vietnam.
More than 80 experts from China, Vietnam, Germany and other countries participated in the event. SCIA International Cooperation and Development’s Deputy Legal Counsel Yi Ran presided over the event.

SCIA Assistant President and Director of International Cooperation and Development Department Huang Guoyong gave a keynote speech on new developments and practices in Chinese international arbitration and diversified dispute resolution.
International Consultant of the Shenzhen Representative Office of Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP Xing Chengdong gave a keynote speech on exploring cross-border disputes between China and Southeast Asia in preservation, enforcement, and judicial review.
