On March 26, 2024, "Enjoy a Spring Day at SCIA Open Day: International Commercial Mediation Session" was held at the SCIA Tower in Qianhai, Shenzhen. This event was jointly organized by the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA), South China International Arbitration Center (HK) (SCIAHK), and Peking University School of Transnational Law (STL), focusing on international commercial mediation. Nine experts, from Italy, Germany, the United States, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Chinese mainland and the Hong Kong SAR were invited to share the latest insights and innovative practices in international commercial mediation. Lawyers, legal professionals, university students, and individuals interested in commercial mediation, from both domestic and overseas, joined the discussion and exchanged ideas.

The welcome addresses are given by Prof. Mark Feldman, Interim Dean of Peking University School of Transnational Law (STL) and SCIA arbitrator, and Giuseppe De Palo, Co-founder of ADR Center (Italy) and JAMS mediator.
The first roundtable discussion is focused on "Development of Commercial Mediation in Asia", moderated by Xie Weimin, the General Counsel of the SCIA, with participation from Steve Kim, Secretary General of KCAB (Korean Commercial Arbitration Board) International, Kuthubul Zaman Bukhari, Chairman of Malaysia-China Business Mediation Centre , Joel Lee, Professor at the National University of Singapore, and Horace Wong, Co-managing Partner and Senior Counsel at Rede Chambers.
The second roundtable discussion is focused on "Persistent Conflicts and Global Initiatives", moderated by Giuseppe De Palo, Co-founder of ADR Center (Italy) and JAMS mediator, with participation from Lela Love, Founder of the Kukin Program for Conflict Resolution, Christian Duve, Former International Partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, and Mylene Chan, Visiting Faculty Member at STL.
