From November 11 to 12, 2023, the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (hereinafter referred to as the "SCIA") and the Singapore International Mediation Center (hereinafter referred to as "SIMC") hosted a two-day full English Specialist Mediator Workshop, an international commercial mediation training program, at the SCIA Tower in Qianhai, Shenzhen.
The program also served as the second phase of the SCIA International Arbitration Training Program (SCIA IATP) for Elite Lawyers in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
It focused on the theory and practice of international commercial mediation and other diversified dispute resolution methods. It highlighted rich course content, including role-playing, case studies, practical analysis and skill sharing.
Top experts from the industry were invited to teach. There were 24 participants on-site, including lawyers from 12 well-known domestic and international law firms such as Fangda, Zhong Lun, Hankun and Llinks, as well as senior legal professionals from nine companies, including Tencent, Guosen Securities, COFCO Grains & Cereals, China Merchants Group and Hilong Oil Service & Engineering.
Since its establishment in 1983, the SCIA has consistently adhered to the "Party Autonomy" principle and upheld the values of openness, inclusiveness, independence, impartiality and innovation.
It is committed to building a platform for consultation, cooperation, and sharing between the legal and business communities and jointly promoting the development of international arbitration in China. In the future, the SCIA will continue to launch various training activities, work hand in hand with the industry, enrich the legal service ecosystem, collaborate with Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR and build an international commercial arbitration center oriented towards the global community.
