NETDA's new material shines at Summer Palace, London Fashion Week
The new official hand-drawn map of the Summer Palace recently went viral for its tear-resistant, waterproof, and excellent color rendering properties, thanks to its material — Kunlun fabric — developed by Jiangsu Kingwills Advanced Materials in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA).

According to Chen Boyi, founder of Kingwills, "Kunlun fabric is a material between non-woven fabric, paper, and film. It can block solid and liquid molecules while maintaining good breathability."
This unique property endows it with vast application potential.
In the medical field, its nanoscale fiber network is ideally suited for medical device packaging. The protective clothing made from this material is puncture-proof, waterproof, breathable, and lightweight, offering a strong safety barrier for medical personnel.
At the popular outdoor market, Kunlun fabric proved to be effective. Bags crafted from this material are lightweight and of high quality, appealing to young consumers and even making an appearance at the 2025 London Fashion Week, highlighting the potential of Chinese new materials.

The Kunlun special new material project has a total investment of 1 billion yuan ($141.87 million), settled in NETDA in 2021, and started production in 2022. Currently, the company has established China's first and globally advanced 15,000-metric-ton intelligent production line.
"In recent years, Kingwills has maintained high R&D investment. Kunlun, our core product, has passed global standards certifications such as Food and Drug Administration in the United States, laying a solid foundation for international market entry," Chen Boyi added.
