Nantong sets up industry-university-research alliance

The Nantong University and Institute Industry-University-Research Alliance was recently established in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area, or NETDA.
Hua Liang, vice-principal of Nantong University, read out the proposal for the alliance's establishment and called on enhanced cooperation among industrial enterprises, universities, and research institutes in order to contribute to Nantong's scientific innovation and industrial development.
The alliance's establishment shows Nantong's firm determination in promoting the in-depth integration of industrial enterprises, universities, and research institutes and marks a solid step forward for the city in the commercialization and application of scientific and technological achievements.

Bao Delin, secretary of the Party working committee of NETDA, said in his speech that NETDA will steadfastly pursue scientific innovation and that the alliance will serve as a bridge between universities, research institutes, and enterprises to advance the sharing and improved allocation of scientific resources.
He also called for the leveraging of scientific resources in Nantong to improve the alliance's service capabilities.
Wu Jiahua, director of the Nantong municipal bureau of science and technology, also urged the alliance to collaborate closely with local government, universities, research institutes, and enterprises as well as channel more innovative resources into enterprises.
Nantong University, the Nantong Institute of Material Engineering Technology of Nanjing University and other universities and institutes inked cooperation agreements with 10 enterprises on the same day, while experts and scholars from multiple universities displayed their latest research results and innovative technologies at a roadshow.
