New quality productive forces | Zhenhua manufactures heavy equipment more intelligently

Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Group (Nantong) Transmission Equipment Co has formed a production model characterized by streamlined and intelligent manufacturing.

The transmission equipment company, a production base of Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Group, set up operations in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) in 2008 and has been recognized as a national high-tech enterprise.

Shield tunneling machines are essential for tunnel and subway projects and transmission accessories are key to such machines. In 2016 the Nantong company collaborated with relevant companies to develop the first certified shield main drive reduction gearbox in China.

Last year, the company developed the first retractable trestle in China that is capable of wave compensation for wind power operation and maintenance mother vessels.

Among all the Nantong company's products, the reduction gearboxes for port machinery occupy over 70 percent of the international market, while shield main drive reduction gearboxes and pile leg racks account for over 50 percent and 40 percent of the domestic market share, respectively.

Dai Lixin, president of Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Group (Nantong) Transmission Equipment Co, noted that local government authorities have offered them a sound environment for business and technological innovation, that they are confident in their development in NETDA, and that they will be sure to boost local economic development with new quality productive forces.
