In a recent evaluation by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area's chemical park secured a position among the nation's top 30 chemical parks.

Polyplastics, a Japanese-based powerhouse in new material’s research and innovation, has contributed to this success. Having invested in two enterprises in the zone since 2001, it is currently in the final stages of relocating operations to the newly-established southern sector, solidifying its commitment to becoming the global hub for engineering plastics.

The area, responding to efforts to protect the Yangtze River, initiated a five-year plan to transform its northern zone into an urban block and its southern zone into a green, sustainable and top-notch chemical zone. Eight out of 12 chemical enterprises have already signed relocation agreements, with a combined investment exceeding $2.1 billion and an additional $1 billion in expected foreign capital upon completion.

The area also strives to fulfill its environmental responsibility. Plans are underway to establish a zero-waste, low-carbon, and smart park, underscoring its commitment to the development of a high-end, efficient, and green chemical industry. The ultimate objective is to swiftly establish itself as a premier national and globally influential chemical industry hub.

This dual success in national recognition and environmental stewardship reflects NETDA's dedication to sustainable growth, positioning itself as a key player in China's chemical industry landscape.
