The Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) in East China's Jiangsu province held a post-doctoral fellow innovation and entrepreneurship contest from Aug 2 to 3.
Jiang Yumin, head of the organization department of NETDA's CPC committee, outlined the area's investment environment and talent policies during the event and expressed hope that more high-caliber talent will come to the area to pursue innovation.
The contest's shortlisted projects are related to industries such as clean power, intelligent equipment, new materials and biomedicine and feature cutting-edge technologies and bright market prospects.
Morel mushroom cultivation technology and monkeypox virus detection kits developed by NETDA's companies claimed third-place prizes, while the area’s four enterprises signed employment contracts with some of the participants.
The area is currently home to three national post-doctoral research centers and two provincial post-doctoral research centers, which are playing a significant role in bolstering the area's four pillar industries - new-generation information technology, high-end equipment, healthcare, and new energy, according to Cao Yonghong, head of NETDA's human resources bureau.
