The Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area, or NETDA – located in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – set out its development goals for the current year at a working meeting on Jan 8.

Under the program, it will sign at least 27 new projects worth over 1 billion yuan ($160 million) each and receive actual foreign investment of more than $600 million in 2022.

This year, the NETDA is expected to make greater efforts to promote the revitalization of leading industries and to build an influential and competitive 100-billion-yuan-level industry cluster in the Yangtze River Delta region.

The area will attach greater importance to scientific and technological innovation, as well as provide a first-class innovation ecosystem for investors.

What's more, plans are for it to provide better public services to enhance the sense of fulfillment, happiness and security of its people.

According to preliminary statistics, the NETDA's annual GDP last year is expected to reach 83.5 billion yuan, an increase of 8.7 percent year-on-year. Paid-in foreign investment is expected to amount to $630 million, up 12.5 percent compared with 2020.
