Nantong high-end textiles target Middle East market

The "Nantong Famous Products Overseas Tour" (Dubai Special) and Nantong Industry Promotion Event were held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Oct 12.

Nantong's garment industry exports exceed $10 billion annually and is an essential partner for many internationally renowned brands. Since the late 1970s, the city has produced Arabian robes and high-end fabrics, establishing a strong market foundation in the Middle East.

This event organized 24 representatives from Nantong's home textile and garment companies to participate, attracting over 50 Middle Eastern buyers for on-site procurement.

The participating garment companies generally reaped substantial gains, with companies like Xintong Garments receiving substantial orders on-site. Representatives from Foremost Hat, Mlily Home, and others, after connecting with Middle Eastern buyers and conducting market inspections, plan to explore setting up brand stores in the UAE.

As an essential platform for promoting industrial clusters to go global, the "Nantong Famous Products Overseas Tour" has successfully held 34 events over the past six years, propelling Nantong's advantageous industries, such as home textiles, garments, power tools, and fitness equipment, to sail abroad.

High-end textiles are one of Nantong's six major industrial clusters, with the scale of Nantong's home textile industry surpassing 240 billion yuan ($33.68 billion) in 2024.

After more than 40 years of development, Nantong has formed a home textile industry cluster centered around the two major markets of Dieshiqiao and Zhihong, establishing a complete industrial chain from R&D and design, spinning and weaving, printing and dyeing, to finished product manufacturing and sales logistics.
