A photography enthusiast, Wu Weimin from Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, recently captured the scene at the foot of Junshan Mountain in the city: A sika deer mother calling her fawn.

As a riverside scenic area, Green Wilderness on Junshan Mountain boasts rich vegetation and is home to numerous wild animals. When visitors are scarce, groups of sika deer wander in pairs or threesomes amidst the greenery. They graze, occasionally raising them to gaze into the distance, their agile figures appearing and disappearing. At times, one can even witness as many as seven deer gathering together.

Photography enthusiasts in Nantong have also observed newborn fawns this year. Throughout the day, the sound of deer calls can often be heard. They have captured the tender calls of fawns, and the mother deer's calls summoning their young on several occasions this year.

Wild sika deer are endangered animals and classified as a national first-level protected species. The continuous growth of the sika deer population on Junshan Mountain serves as a strong testament to the improvement of the natural environment in Nantong.
