In early summer, Chongchuan, located in downtown Nantong, is lush with greenery, making it the perfect time for cycling.
The following three cycling routes will take you through the mountains, ancient city, and canals, allowing you to experience the district's unique blend of nature and culture.
Cycling route one: Shanshui Route – Gongnongnan Road – Junshan Ring Road
As the May wind brushes past Junshan Mountain, the rustling of leaves fills the air. This is nature's invitation to cyclists. For first-time riders, the Junshan route is a great choice. This popular route is well-equipped with cycling stations and parking lots. Cycling along the route, dense forests shield you from the hustle and bustle, filling the air with fresh negative ions. Arriving at the riverside observation deck, the Yangtze River stretches like silver threads. Cargo ships slowly pass by, their whistles echoing. At dusk, the sunset paints the river surface orange, as if you could reach out and touch the vibrant sky.

Cycling route two: Haobei Road – Haodong Road – Chengshan Road – Qingnianzhong Road – Yuelong Road – Haoxi Ring Road
The Haohe River route is ideal for slowing down and savoring the old city's charm while cycling. The TV tower stands like a bookmark of time. Along Chengshan Road, corner stores embellish the romantic atmosphere of the city. On the Haohe River, the eaves reflect in the water, boats break the shimmering waves, and golden specks scatter. The entire journey is a flowing landscape painting. This is not just a cycling path but also an unfolded book of urban history.

Cycling route three: Tonglyu Canal round trip route /Fenshui Island Loop
The Tonglyu Canal traverses the entire Nantong, carrying the memories and changes of the city. Cycling along the canal feels like entering a natural "oxygen generator" with the clear blue sky overhead, the warm sun enveloping you, and sunlight filtering through leaves to create speckles on the road. The rainbow walkway on Fenshui Island records many leisurely afternoons.
