HK, Macao, Taiwan teenagers compete in Nantong's drone contest

One hundred and six teenagers from Jiangsu, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan competed in a drone flying contest held in Nantong, Jiangsu province, on Aug 12.

An integral part of the second Jiangsu-Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan Youth Artificial Intelligence Exchange, the contest is expected to engage participants in interdisciplinary learning, inspire their interest in aerospace, and cultivate their cooperative spirit.

The participating teenagers were divided into three groups by age, and they were required to complete relay flights with their partners in sequence while controlling the flight time and avoiding obstacles.

Liu Heng-jun from Taichung Municipal Dajia Senior High School in Taiwan finished the flight with her partners in two minutes, causing a burst of cheers from the audience. Liu said it was her first visit to Nantong, and she had made many new friends there.

During their stay in Nantong, the participants will attend a lecture about AI and tour the city to get a further understanding of its history, culture, and economic development.
