A swimming challenge event organized by the Ironman Triathlon Association of Haimen district, Nantong, Jiangsu province, took place at the Jiangong Lake Scenic Area on July 20. The event attracted nearly 100 swimming enthusiasts from throughout the Yangtze River Delta region, including Shanghai, Suzhou, and Wuxi.

The competition featured three distance categories: 10,000 meters, 6,000 meters, and 4,000 meters. The length of the route around Jiangong Lake is approximately 4,000 meters, requiring participants in the 10,000-meter challenge to complete three round trips.

Yan Jing from Shanghai, who won first place in the 10,000-meter challenge, praised the organization of the event and the beautiful scenery of Jiangong Lake.

Yan shared, "Participating in the 10,000-meter Jiangong Lake swim today was not just a test of speed and endurance but also a spiritual experience. The stunning scenery here is truly captivating!"

According to Gu Yongjun, the head of the Ironman Triathlon Association of Haimen, the 10,000-meter challenge provided participants with a platform to showcase their abilities, experience the joy of swimming, and embrace new challenges.

The successful organization of this event has increased the attention and participation of swimming enthusiasts in the sport, igniting a passion for swimming among participants and laying a solid foundation for drawing more people to engage in swimming for exercise.
