Syngenta Group, a seed and pesticide manufacturer, laid the foundation for its new production base for plant protection products in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Zone, or NETDA, East China's Jiangsu province, on June 20.

Sinochem Holdings Corp Ltd' wholly-owned subsidiary, Syngenta Group, is positioning the new facility as a strategic global factory and production base.

With a total investment of $112 million, the new factory is scheduled to commence operations in 2026, producing products such as plant growth regulators and nature bioactivators.

As a multinational company focusing on agricultural technology, Syngenta Group possesses top-notch seed biotechnologies and breeding technologies. In 1999, the group invested in Nantong for the first time and has increased its investment multiple times since.

The Nantong factory has become the group's most important production base for its formulation business, developing globally-leading, environmentally-friendly, and efficient plant protection products.

Ding Song, vice-president of Syngenta Group China, noted that the company is confident that its new factory will become a global role model in the field of plant protection products.

He also said that the group will continue to expand its presence in Nantong and make greater contributions to NETDA's industrial development and the city's high-quality development.
