Yu Senhua, a 46-year-old mountaineer from Haimen district, Nantong, Jiangsu province, touched down at Nantong Xingdong Airport on June 4, marking the end of his nearly two-month expedition to summit Mount Everest.

Yu successfully reached the pinnacle of Mount Everest, the world's tallest peak standing at 8,848.86 meters above sea level, in the early hours of May 22. This achievement made him the first person from Nantong to conquer this formidable mountain.

Yu's journey commenced in Lukla, Nepal, the gateway for Mount Everest expeditions situated at an elevation of 2,800 meters. Starting from Lukla, he embarked on a challenging week-long trek, gradually acclimatizing to the altitude changes. His ascent took him from over 2,000 meters initially to the base camp at over 5,000 meters. Throughout this arduous process, Yu encountered harsh natural conditions and battled physical discomfort induced by high altitudes.

Reflecting on his feat, Yu noted, "This ascent of Mount Everest not only exposed me to breathtaking landscapes but also instilled in me the resolve to bravely confront any future difficulties and challenges, constantly striving to surpass myself."

Yu's rigorous preparation began four years ago, during which he scaled several snow-capped mountains ranging from 5,000 meters to over 7,000 meters, including Ukuchu, Amadablam, and Manaslu. These climbing experiences fortified his willpower and honed his ability to navigate complex environments.

Yu is a seasoned IT professional who leads a team of over 10 people, specializing in the field of big data analytics.
