Nantong, Jiangsu province launched its celebrations for this year's International Museum Day and 2024 China Tourism Day which falls on May 19, on May 18.

The city's celebrations for the International Museum Day include a launch ceremony, five activities at the Nantong Museum, and about 100 special activities at museums around the city, such as exhibitions and social education activities.

Nantong also launched three travel routes centering on museums to further spur consumption in summer.

At the launch ceremony, the Nantong Museum inked a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Nantong Culture and Tourism Industry Development Group Co and Nantong Newspaper Media Group Co to develop travel routes for summer vacation.

A warm-up for the upcoming 2024 Nantong Rural Tourism Festival was held on the same day. As one of the city's most important tourism festivals, the event will be unveiled in Shanghu village, Hai'an, on May 25. It will feature bazaars, performances, lectures on intangible cultural heritage, and a farmers' sports meeting.
