May 18 marks this year's International Museum Day, and Nantong in Jiangsu province is offering a variety of activities to celebrate the day.

The celebrations include a launch ceremony, five activities at Nantong Museum, and other special activities at museums around the city.

The launch ceremony is set to take place at Nantong Museum at 9:30 am on May 18. The five activities at the museum include the first Nantong Museum-based Education Expo from May 18 to 19, an exhibition showcasing the traditional life art of Nantong scholars in the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) from May 18 to June 23, an exhibition about Nantong's wedding customs from May 18 to 20, a short play on May 18, and a cultural bazaar from May 16 to 20.

Other museums in the city, including Rugao Museum, Hai'an Museum, and Nantong Kites Museum, will offer temporary exhibitions as well as cultural experience activities to make Chinese medicine sachets, kites, and rubbings.
