Sannan village in Haimen district, Nantong distinguished itself with various unique bamboo-weaving products at the recent Jiangsu Public Cultural Products and Services Procurement Fair in Nanjing.
The products were created by Zhang Zuyu, a folk artist in Sannan village, who has been making bamboo products for over 50 years.
Although Zhang is a highly-skilled artisan, producing a bamboo artwork is still major undertaking.

Weaving a bamboo product usually takes three to five days, and Zhang also blends calligraphy and traditional Chinese paintings into her works.
To better promote Sannan's bamboo products, the village has livestreamed its products on social media platforms such as Douyin.
In addition to intangible cultural heritage, the village has launched rural tourism projects and hosted pear blossom festivals in pursuit of rural vitalization.
Sannan also collaborated with Jiangsu Zhongling Modern Ecological Agricultural Science and Technology Industrial Park, investing more than 30 million yuan ($4.14 million) to establish an agricultural industrial park featuring sightseeing, entertainment and education.
The village has been listed among the first group of demonstration villages in rural vitalization in Nantong and recognized as a beautiful and livable village by the provincial authorities.
