Wu Xinming, Party secretary of Nantong in Jiangsu province, met with Robert Aspell, president for Asia-Pacific at US agribusiness group Cargill Inc, on April 12.
Wu welcomed Aspell and provided him with an overview on the city's economic and social development. He emphasized that Nantong boasts an advantageous position and a solid industrial foundation.
In recent years, the city has leveraged national strategies, including the Yangtze River Delta integration and the Belt and Road Initiative, to enhance cooperation with Shanghai and southern Jiangsu, he added.
The Party secretary also highlighted that Cargill, a globally renowned agriculture and food company, has carried out pragmatic and efficient cooperation with Nantong over the past 20 years. He expressed hope that the company will continue investing in Nantong and promised continued support.
Aspell reviewed Cargill's development in Nantong over the past two decades and thanked the city for its long-term support.
He believes that Nantong is blessed with robust development, vast potential, and a favorable business environment, adding that Cargill will strengthen its commitment to Nantong and capitalize its advantages to deepen cooperation with the city.
