Hai'an strives for high-quality manufacturing growth
Hai'an, a county-level city in East China's Jiangsu province, is striving to establish itself as one of the first high-quality manufacturing development demonstration areas in the province.
It ranked 16th among China's top 100 industrial counties and the 14th among the nation's top 100 innovative counties (cities).
Behind these impressive achievements lies Hai'an's persistent focus on the real economy and continuous efforts to strengthen its manufacturing industry.
Tan Zhen, the deputy secretary of the the CPC Hai'an Municipal Committee, said that the city is actively embracing the new wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation, consolidating its industrial foundation, and striving to become a powerhouse in manufacturing.
One notable success story is Jiangsu Beijiali Machinery Technology Co, a company specializing in automotive chassis components. Upon relocating from Suzhou to Hai'an in 2021, the company invested 160 million yuan ($22.3 million) to establish five fully automated production lines, integrating over 100 robotic arms for intelligent production.
According to Huang Dingjun, the company's sales director, the company plans to add two more automated production lines, achieving a 40 percent reduction in labor while maintaining the same production efficiency.
In pursuit of new industrialization, Hai'an has introduced a comprehensive set of policies, including the "30 measures" to strengthen the construction of new infrastructure, such as 5G and mobile IoT, to promote the proactive application of artificial intelligence.
By 2023, Hai'an completed over 1,000 projects related to intelligent transformation and digitalization.
