Hai'an shines in 2023 with innovative advancement
Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, Jiangsu province, concluded 2023 by securing 14th place among China's top 100 counties in innovation, showcasing the region's commitment to technological advancement.
Throughout the year, Hai'an focused on 10 key areas, including new materials and high-end equipment. It hosted 68 technology investment events in cities like Shanghai, Shenzhen, Suzhou, and Xi'an, resulting in the recognition and attraction of 188 cutting-edge science and technology projects.
Actively fostering collaboration with academic institutions, Hai'an helped over 200 companies engage with research institutions and universities. This included participation in 40 industry forums and various online and offline events, leading to the initiation of 286 new industry-academia research collaboration projects.
In the pursuit of innovation, Hai'an established four new provincial-level engineering technology research centers and 15 municipal-level centers within Nantong in the past year.
This thriving innovation landscape has also spurred growth in the number of high-tech enterprises. In 2023, Hai'an saw a substantial increase, with 395 companies applying for recognition as high-tech enterprises. The total number of high-tech enterprises in Hai'an has now reached an impressive 551.
