Ten Gentoo penguins made their debut at the Sendi Snow Park in Chongchuan district, Nantong, on Jan 20, receiving a warm welcome from visitors.

The Gentoo penguin, or white-browed penguin, is one of the most cold-resistant animals in the world. To help them settle in the park smoothly and replicate their natural polar habitat, the park manager has invited ice sculptors to create a 200-square meter home of ice and snow.

A professional feeding team has also been set up to ensure their healthy and happy growth in the park.

During the upcoming Spring Festival holiday, which runs from Feb 10-17 this year, the snow park will organize activities centering on the newly-introduced penguins as well as popular science lectures to familiarize visitors with the wildlife species.
