Rudong Customs takes measures to improve business environment
Rudong Customs held a press conference on Nov 16 to unveil measures aimed at implementing the 16 initiatives from the General Administration of Customs for optimizing the business environment.
At the conference, the customs also detailed the implementation of the 30 measures under the special action for optimizing the business environment.
To further improve the business environment, Rudong Customs has been prioritizing project attraction this year, providing comprehensive services for investment promotion in the county.
The customs authority has facilitated major port-related projects and helped relevant firms achieve tax reductions exceeding 200 million yuan ($27.99 million). It has also guided foreign trade enterprises in establishing compliance self-inspection systems and encouraged proactive disclosure. As a result, five enterprises in the county have reduced late payment fines by 213,300 yuan through voluntary disclosure.
Rudong Customs has also actively advanced the implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership policies. To date, it has issued 3,119 RCEP certificates, a year-on-year increase of 51.55 percent.
Additionally, Rudong Customs has issued preferential free trade agreement certificates for exported goods totaling $488 million, helping enterprises in the county to benefit from destination country tax preferences amounting to $17.42 million.
In further support of the expansion of the Yangkou Port, customs has successfully initiated new berths, facilitating the unloading of 14 international vessels with a combined tonnage of 145,000 metric tons. This has effectively addressed the raw material demands of local enterprises.
