Yangkou Port strong force in Rudong's high-quality development
The 15th Rudong Coastal Economic Cooperation Conference took place on Nov 18, spotlighting the remarkable achievements of Yangkou Port in Rudong county, Nantong, Jiangsu province in recent years.
Yangkou Port has emerged as a top-tier industrial port in the Yangtze River Delta region, evolving into a nationally recognized energy hub and a crucial contributor to Jiangsu's international openness, according to statements at the conference.
For example, the nation's first independently constructed PetroChina LNG receiving station at Yangkou Port has been operating for 13 years, ranking second in the country in total unloading volume over the past three years.
In addition, the port is accelerating the formation of an industrial landscape dominated by new materials, new energy, and new equipment industries, with several over-1-billion-yuan ($140.17 million) mega-projects successively commencing operations.
This year, the industrial output and taxable sales of large-scale industries at the port are set to double, surpassing 40 billion yuan. In the latest provincial development zone rankings, Yangkou Port has ascended 43 places over the past three years, now standing at an impressive 29th position.
Leveraging Yangkou Port's advantages, Rudong's GDP surged from 115.5 billion yuan in 2020 to 131.4 billion yuan in 2022. The three major industrial clusters, focusing on new energy, new materials, and new equipment, continue to expand and strengthen, with total industrial output expected to reach 200 billion yuan in 2023.
During the conference, agreements for 33 projects with a total investment of 58 billion yuan were signed and are set to be built in Rudong, marking a significant step towards further growth and development.
