Eight Nantong-produced foods win provincial recognition (I)
Eight kinds of foods produced in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, recently won recognition from provincial authorities.

1. Pre-made globefish dishes by Zhongyang Group
The globefish is one of the three specialties of the Yangtze River and is popular among foodies for its tender meat, delicious taste and high nutritional value. Zhongyang Group farms more than eight million globefish per year and its production lines can process more than 3,000 metric tons of the fish into diversified products.

2. Chunhua-branded turnip pickles
Dried turnip is a renowned specialty in Rugao, a county-level city in Nantong, and equally renowned are juicy Rugao-grown turnips of thin peel and crisp and sweet taste. Nantong Chunhua Food Co produces different turnip-made pickles in small packages and owns a turnip growing base.

3. Langshan chickens
The history of Langshan chickens in Rudong county can be traced to 1872. With tender meat, Longshan chickens are suitable for stewing, braising in sauce, stir-frying, and cold dishes. The national Longshan chicken breeding farm in the county consists of four functional zones for breed conservation, hatching, breeding merchandised chickens, and processing chickens.

4. Lyusi jellyfish
One of the eight renowned seafoods in China, Lyusi jellyfish is made after multiple processes starting with fresh jellyfish and including peeling using a local-made tool, dehydrating, and curing.
