Hai'an sees steady economic growth in H1
The economy of Hai'an, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, in the first half of this year has experienced stable growth, with its GDP reaching 72.87 billion yuan ($10.15 billion), a year-on-year increase of 6.8 percent.
The value added of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries reached 2.95 billion yuan, 40.1 billion yuan, and 29.82 billion yuan, respectively, increasing 4.3 percent, 9.9 percent and 2.9 percent compared to the same period last year.
During the same period, the county's industrial economy witnessed steady growth, achieving industrial sales of 114.22 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.9 percent. Meanwhile, the modern service industry in Hai'an has shown signs of recovery. The taxable sales of the service industry reached 56.77 billion yuan, an increase 17.26 percent compared to the same period in 2022. Total retail sales of social consumer goods reached 21.83 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.3 percent.
In addition, 46 new service industry enterprises were created in the county in the first half of this year, ranking third in Nantong in terms of total quantity.
From January to June, Hai'an's total imports and exports reached 9.97 billion yuan and the county's general public budget revenue reached 3.79 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 31.39 percent.
