The Chongchuan Economic Development Zone in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has over the past decade made outstanding achievements in its economic development, social governance, and improvement of people's wellbeing. 

The zone has over the 10 years been striving to attract more quality projects to promote the development of its advanced manufacturing and modern service sectors. 

In the first half of this year, the zone's advanced manufacturing sectors, including electronic information and intelligent equipment, generated a combined output value of 43.29 billion yuan ($6.01 billion), a year-on-year increase of 10.3 percent. 

Thirty-four service companies above designated size, including Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler, were set up in the zone in the January-June period. 

The added value of the zone's service sector reached 109.97 billion yuan and the industry saw an investment of 49.44 billion yuan in 2021.

The zone has built a zone-level command center and 16 sub-district-level command centers that are equipped with advanced digital equipment to improve its social governance. 

The zone was recognized by the Ministry of Civil Affairs in December 2021 for its excellent performances in improving community governance. 

In addition, the zone has made great progress in providing elderly care services over the last decade. 

The zone is currently home to four elderly care centers that provide 24-hour services to elderly residents, such as daily care and rehabilitation nursing.
