Three practice centers for postgraduates of pharmacy were unveiled in the Linjiang New Area of Haimen district, Nantong on June 16.
The unveiling ceremony was held during a seminar on teaching pharmacy postgraduates by the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, with local government officials and experts from CAS, China Pharmaceutical University, Shenyang Pharmaceutical University, and Anhui University of Chinese Medicine in attendance.
The centers are respectively sponsored by CAS's Shanghai Institute of Materia Midica, UCAS's school of pharmaceutical sciences, and Jiangxi University of Chinese Medicine. They are meant to help build a world-class biopharmaceutical industrial cluster in Linjiang New Area.
Life science and healthcare is one of eight major industrial chains that Haimen aims to develop, with Linjiang as the industry hub, said Guo Xiaomin, Party secretary of Haimen, at the seminar.
According to Guo, the district partnered with CAS's Shanghai Institute of Materia Midica to set up a high-end research institute of medicine for the Yangtze River Delta region in 2019. The institute has brought in 30 innovative projects and recruited nearly 100 master's degree candidates.
She added that the seminar marked a step forward in government-university cooperation in the cultivation of talent, which will help increase Haimen's strength in the life science and healthcare industry.
