The Nantong Museum announced on April 2 that it would reopen to the public on April 4 after closing in late January due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Areas to reopen include the garden, the new exhibition hall, the central hall, Haonan Bieye (the former residence of Zhang Jian, a pioneer of modern industry in China), and the Zhang Jian Memorial Hall.
The garden will be open from 6:00 to 17:00, while the exhibition halls will be open from 9:00 to 16:30. The museum will be closed on Monday, except public holidays.
According to the announcement, the museum will only receive solo visitors amid the outbreak. All visitors are required to register their information, have their temperatures taken, and put on face masks before entering.
Services such as tour guides and baggage deposits will not be available during this period.
An exhibition of cultural relics representing good luck in traditional Chinese culture and another one featuring European glassware and ceramics from the Shanghai Museum will be postponed until April 12 and 14, respectively.
Those who made reservations for New Year "blessing" cards before the Spring Festival can finally receive the cards at the service counter of the new exhibition hall using their phone numbers and ID cards.
For more information, follow the museum's official WeChat and Sina Weibo accounts, or call the hotlines 0513-85062509 or 0513-85062528.
