It was a case of sand, sun and smashes, as the 2019 National Beach Volleyball Grand Slam kicked off at Xingdao Shui’an Park in Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province, on May 27.

The four-day competition features 16 men and 16 women’s teams from 12 provinces and regions across the country. A total of 32 games will take place.

Nantong has been host city of the event for the third consecutive year.

A FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour will also be held at the park from May 31 to June 2, with 24 women’s teams from around the world taking part.
