A health food plant – to cost 1.16 billion yuan ($159.73 million) – began construction on Sept 16 in the Xinghua Economic Development Zone in Xinghua city, administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province.
Being funded by Jiangsu Jideli Food Co Ltd, it will have an estimated floor space of 106,000 square meters of production plant, office buildings and research and development buildings.
The aim is to produce 40,000 metric tons of condiments, 22,000 tons of snack food and 12,000 tons of pre-pared food annually.

It's expected to start operating by September 2025 and will generate an estimated 1 billion yuan in invoiced sales and pay taxes of over 50 million yuan per year.
Its investor is a company that has focused on kitchen ingredients for over 30 years and which plans to go public in 2024. Last year, Jiangsu Jideli Food Co Ltd generated 2 billion yuan in invoiced sales – both online and offline – and paid tax of 60 million yuan.
Overall, the health food industrial facility is seen as expanding the scale of the health food industry in the zone – helping the sector take the path towards more refined, end-user and branded development.
